Multiple Meaning Words

 

 

Dear Parents,

This week we have been learning about Multiple Meaning Words. These are words that can have more than one meaning. Students have been learning to interpret dual meaning words in more than one way. For example, the word trip. You could say: She took a trip to Hawaii. Or you could say: Be careful, or you will trip. As you can see trip can mean different things although it is the same word.

Have your child select easy or hard depending on how challenging a game they want to play. It's a good idea to start with easy then goes on to hard. Then fill in the blanks to complete a sentence using the correct words. Feedback is immediate which makes this a fun game.
